Duties and responsibilities:

While following all store Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and company policies, sales associates shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:


Customer Service:
Provide courteous and prompt service
Welcome customers as they enter and thank them as they leave
Assist customers in locating what they're looking for
Provide excellent after-sales service
Smile
Sales:
Be informed of the products' specifications and information
Identifying customer needs and directing them to an appropriate product
Operating the POS system to complete transactions
Processing various payment types
Inventory management:
Assist maintaining the store inventory
Arranging inventory on the store floor
Tagging merchandise
Setting up promotional material and displays
Replenishing inventory
Reorganizing items
Maintaining a neat and tidy store
Other duties:
Opening or closing the store
Basic housecleaning
Answer phone calls
Security and loss prevention
Attend staff meetings
Other responsibilities will be assigned from time to time.

Complete all seasonal training quizzes. 6. Maintain awareness of any shrinkage situations and notifies store management of each situation. 7. Ensure all merchandise is sensored prior to going to the selling floor according to sensoring guidelines. 8. Ensure all in-bound and out-bound merchandise is accurate, report any discrepancies to the stock supervisor and inventory control. 9. Provide exceptional customer service. Maintain a customer clientele book to establish a relationship and follow up process with customers. 10. Accomplish tasks assigned by the store management

    The Jacob Burns Film Center, located in Pleasantville NY, is a nonprofit cultural and educational institution dedicated to presenting the best of independent, documentary and world cinema, promoting visual literacy and making film a vibrant part of the community.

    We seek a part time Equipment Staffer to work under the supervision of our Equipment Manager and Film Center Technical Director in support of the activities of the organization and its educational programs. An ideal candidate would have a solid grounding in digital media equipment and a strong desire to expand that knowledge and grow their skills in a collaborative environment.

    The Film Center and Media Arts Lab utilize a wide range of digital production equipment such as video and still cameras, microphones, portable audio recording devices, Macintosh and Windows computers, lighting equipment and various other production equipment.

    Over 85,000 students in grades 3-12 and college have participated in our education programs, more than 50% of them from underserved communities throughout the tri-state area. Their participation, including transportation, is funded entirely by the JBFC, thanks in part to support from individuals, foundations, and corporations. Programs range from film, animation and new media production to experiments in emergent technologies – each course helping students master the tools of 21st century communication while fostering intellectual curiosity and creative exploration.

    The JBFC Theater houses three screens and is open to the public 365 days a year. Exhibitions include first-run independent features, previews, classic films, and documentaries from around the world. Each month, we present two to four curated series including annual and monthly programs, as well as special one-time events and retrospectives on important film artists. More than 150 directors, actors, authors, scholars, and other remarkable guests come to speak with our audience each year.

    The successful candidate must have:

    Primary responsibilities include:

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Stock Associate (Part-time Seasonal): This position will be responsible for keeping the inventory and stockroom organized by receiving, transferring, packing, stocking and ticketing merchandise.

    Required Skills / Qualifications:

    * Must be able to perform physical labor and able to lift 40 lbs
    * Basic computer knowledge
    * Ability to work a flexible schedule and available to work at least 1 day each weekend
    * Stockroom experience is a plus

    This position requires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.

    Description:The New Museum’s retail program is renowned in the contemporary art field and has among the highest sales per sq. of any museum retailer. The program has undergone dramatic expansion due to opening of the New Museum’s highly anticipated new building in late 2007 as well as the recent launch of several entrepreneurial retail initiatives. The Retail Associate - Sales reports to the Associate Retail Operations Manager. Work hours include weekends, evenings and encompass staffing pop-up stores, offsite events and projects.

    Responsibilities:• Meets and exceeds daily sales goals.
    • Follow through with customer sales and inquiries.
    • Opening and closing of cash registers.
    • Taking and completing mail and special orders by phone, email and fax.
    • Receiving of merchandise and restocking of sold products.
    • Participating in annual inventory count.
    • Assist at store and off-site events.
    • Light housekeeping of store.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:Candidates should have superb customer-focused sales skills, familiarity with computerized POS and inventory systems, excellent customer service skills and solid communication skills. The ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks is important for this position. Occasionally candidates must be able to lift 30 pound boxes. Knowledge of contemporary art is required. Retail experience in a book store or museum store is preferred.
