Qualifications

Education/Experience:Years of Related Professional Experience: 1.
High School diploma or equivalent. Qualified candidates must possess at least one year of experience in a competitive retail sales environment.

Skills:Must consistently provide the highest standard of customer service while keeping focused on team objectives and excel in individual sales. Must be able to converse with customers on a variety of outdoor activities. Accuracy in communication and if assigned to handle register transactions, and when completing inventory tasks.

Special Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; and stoop, crawl, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb ladders and balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job includeclose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Key Responsibilities

 1. Top priority is providing customers shopping at The North Face with an exceptional customer brand service. 2. Actively use the SUMMIT Selling Skills to meet sales objective.3. Increase sales through the Clientele Development Program.4. Contribute to the team's working environment by adhering to the company's policies and procedures. 5. Reports to the management team and regularly communicate with other store's staff and central staff. 6. Lift and move product and restock merchandise as necessary. Maintain merchandise presentation and housekeeping standards.7. Communicate any potential health, safety, or material loss situations to store management. 8. Is frequently required to stand. May be required to crouch, kneel, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and climb ladders as needed.9. Complete all non-selling tasks as required.

About the Position
Sotheby’s Institute of Art is seeking an experienced part time receptionist to work evenings.   All candidates must be responsible, have good customer service skills and be able to provide coverage for our Reception Area/Commons four evenings a week from 4:30pm – 8:30pm.  This person will also be responsible for providing light audio-visual assistance to Public Programs faculty and assist with all evening special events.  The right candidate will assume responsibility for all building related issues and emergencies while on duty.  This is a great opportunity for retirees, students and persons with a background in higher education or some knowledge of the art world. 

Knowledge and Abilities
The requirements listed here are representative of the knowledge, technical skills and abilities required:

•Must keep up to date with all programs, calendars, events in order to provide accurate information
•Strong customer service skills
•Strong PC skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook and CAMS (the student data base for SIA)
•Strong organizational skills
•Ability to plan and prioritize work activity 
•Adaptable to changes in the workplace
•Ability to interact with all levels of management
•Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
•Ability to be present in the office/reception area

Sales Associate

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
Sales Experience
  • Utilize elevated levels of sales and client service to maximize sale performance
  • After closing a sales, monitor all details including: shipping, alterations (if applicable) and any special request to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Keen interest in fashion industry and market trends

Customer Service
  • Build and maintain repeat clientele and ensure staff maintains constant client communication using the client books

Operations
  • Keep selling floor and merchandise neat, organized and stocked
  • Assist in the maintenance of all inventory in the stockroom and on the selling floor
  • Comply with all Point-of-Sale policies and procedures
  • Properly execute all relevant register functions

Merchandise/Visual
  • Assist manager in implementation and maintenance of all merchandising directives

Requirements:
  • 1-2+ years sales experience required, preferably in a luxury environment
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
