- Monitor flow of Customer traffic, requesting additional Cashiers when needed
- Maintain an organized and clean appearance behind checkout area
- Stock register supplies such as bags, register paper, etc., alert Manager on Duty of shortages
- Properly display and maintain register corral, Impulse and Forget Me Not sections
- Responsible for all transactions and paperwork associated to the assigned register

About the Position
Sotheby’s Institute of Art is seeking an experienced part time receptionist to work evenings. About the Position
Sotheby’s Institute of Art is seeking an experienced part time receptionist to work evenings. All candidates must be responsible, have good customer service skills and be able to provide coverage for our Reception Area/Commons four evenings a week from 4:30pm – 8:30pm. This person will also be responsible for providing light audio-visual assistance to Public Programs faculty and assist with all evening special events. The right candidate will assume responsibility for all building related issues and emergencies while on duty. The working environment is a multi-cultural music and dance center in Chelsea. The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact at the studio and requires customer service skills. Some of the duties will include database management, registering students for class, taking payments, answering the phone line, filing forms, help with publicity of classes and maintaining the appearance of the studio among other duties. This position will be Wednesday, Friday and Saturday afternoon/evenings with occasional Sunday afternoons. THE ROLE: The Customer Experience Lead's primary responsibility is to assist the leadership team in overseeing the sales floor and ensuring a positive customer experience. The CE Lead will assist in aspects of store operations focusing primarily on the areas of customer engagement including the sales floor, fitting room and cash wrap.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Generation:
- Performs Leader on Duty responsibilities as needed.
- Stays current on goals and priorities as it relates to the selling floor.
- Offers suggestions to the leadership team about how to improve daily sales trends.
Customer Experience:
- Sets the example by role modeling great customer service and introducing Piperlime.com to new customers.
- Ensures that associates are upholding service standards.
- Handles complex customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures; escalates issues as appropriate.
Staff Supervision:
- Monitors floor coverage and zoning for the day and takes action according to SPH, UPT, AT and conversion trends using hourly sales reads.
- Monitors cash wrap to ensure customers are served in accordance with customer service policies and cashier guidelines.
- Coordinates associate breaks, lunches and shift changes.
- Logs time and attendance infractions (sick/late/no show); assists the LOD with on‐call shifts.
- Performs employee personal property checks.
- Trains, coaches and directs associates on service and how to meet productivity standards.
- Communicates development feedback of others to the leadership team.
Operations:
- Upholds all company policies as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual, including the Field Employee Policy Guide and Code of Business Conduct.
- Enforces all Loss Prevention policies, and communicates violations to the leadership team or the Code of Business Conduct Hotline.
- Responsible for front‐of‐house receiving and assisting vendors.
- Ensures company standards of neat, clean and organized sales floor, cash wrap and fitting room areas are met.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to General Manager and Assistant Managers. Collaborates effectively across teams, Business Partners and departments as needed.
Qualifications
