Position Overview:
You will hold a lasting impression for our customer’s shopping experience by performing all customer service functions according to established procedures. Your role will include assisting customers during the checkout process, performing all cash register functions, and bag groceries or work at customer service desk on occasion. Additionally you will work to maintain attractive Customer Service displays and supporting the regional Customer Service vision. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Duties:
  1. Make sure the customers are being taken care of and the department looks great at all times. Surprise and delight the customers with consistent, delightful service.
  2. Assist in overseeing customer flow; ensure that customer waiting time is within established regional limits.
  3. Process invoices and returns.
  4. Maximize team potential through effective and proper procedures for customer check out, handling of tenders, use of tares, sales of alcoholic beverages, and use of PLUs and UPCs.
  5. Request and ensure proper signage.
  6. Support national, regional, and store programs.
  7. Keep the Customer Service department clean, sweep floors and maintain sweep logs.
  8. Achieve turn goals; participate in monthly inventory.
  9. Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
  10. Operates and sanitizes all Customer Service equipment in a safe and proper manner.
  11. All duties and responsibilities of Courtesy Clerk; may perform tasks assigned to the Customer Service booth.
  12. Answers department telephone calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette.
  13. Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Customer Service Team Member.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Customer Service Team Leader (Department Manager), Associate Team Leader (Assistant Department Manager), or Supervisor.

Requirements:
  1. Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers
  2. A desire to grow with the Customer Service Team
  3. Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  4. Ability to sell proactively.
  5. A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products
  6. Effective time management skills
  7. Strong work ethic and integrity
  8. Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
  9. Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  10. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
  11. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds, unassisted and able to push and pull carts with product weighing up to 100 pounds.
  12. Use of box cutters.
