Position Summary
The
School Receptionist plays an important role by providing administrative
support to the School of Dance Office and participating in all
activities related to the school which include but are not limited to:
administrative support, tuition transactions, customer service to
students and parents and special events.

Ballet
Hispanico explores, preserves, and celebrates Latino cultures through
dance. Founded by Tina Ramirez in 1970, the organization is now under
the Artistic Direction of Eduardo Vilaro. Ballet Hispanico’s programs
include a professional Company with an annual New York season and
cumulative national/international touring to an audience of nearly 3
million; a School of Dance unique in its emphasis on ballet,
contemporary and Spanish dance as its core curriculum, serving nearly
700 students annually; and Education and Outreach, with arts education
programs that serve over 1,200 New York City school children through
long-term residencies and thousands more through national outreach
programs. Ballet Hispanico is headquartered in a 21,000 sq. ft. dance

Key Responsibilities:
• Support all reception desk and school related responsibilities related to a busy school office
• Assist in responding to responding to emails, registration inquiries, processing school registration
• Process school registration, tuition and scholarship applications
• Support School of Dance events and meetings
• Generate correspondence communication to all faculty, staff and parents
• Ensure organization and presentation of front desk area
• Other job-related duties as assigned
Required skills:
• 1-2 years of work experience (internships ok).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work in order to meet important deadlines.
• Computer proficiency: MS Excel, Word, Outlook required. Knowledge of JackRabbit Dance Database a plus.
• Must be a self-starter with a proactive approach to work.
• Experience working with children and parents.
• Excellent follow-up skills.
• Spanish fluency in written and oral communication, preferred.
We are looking to fill 2 part-time positions offering a competitive hourly rate without benefits:
Position 1: 28 hours a week; 3-8 pm 4 week days; 10-6 Saturdays
Position 2: 20 hours a week; 5-8 pm 4 week days; 10-6 Saturdays
