ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*Clean and tidy the reception and entrance area; eg: coat check, reception desks, drawers, coat hangers, coat rails, umbrella holders, incense holders
*Replenish the necessary stationery e.g. pens, pencils, papers, white-out tapes, table plans, stapler, hole puncher, etc.
*Stock and prepare other items to be used during the shift e.g. coat check tickets, reading glasses, business cards, trays, candles, incenses, incense holders, trash bags, glass cleaning sprays, carrier bags.
*Review booking sheet and blocking sheet information in order to get familiar with guests' names
*Focus on the names and booking times, numbers of guests of large bookings and important bookings to ensure accuracy
*To know or figure out the regulars' preferences or guests marked "special attention" and develop an action plan to satisfy these preferences
*Memorizes different sections and table numbers
*Keep record of "lost and found" items
*Provide a warm and friendly welcome to all guests, and to anybody who is entering through the reception area
*Open doors for guests and to welcome them with an appropriate greeting, e.g. "good afternoon madam", "good evening sir"
*Deal with all kind of inquiries including telephone inquiries
*To be aware of who is who in the Company and know their extension numbers
*Understand information related to Hakkasan, e.g. head office, other related operations, their addresses
*Know about major attractions in NYC, e.g. cinemas, bars, theaters
*Opening and closing times for all our units, as well as last order times
*To greet the guests and learn their booking details
*Tour the unit in intervals to identify any empty tables and inform the Maitre'd
*Offer and serve drinks if the guest is being held on the bench
*Walk guests to the bar and arrange a comfortable space for them if the preference is the bar
*Inform the guests that their table is ready and invite them to the table
*Pull out chairs and tables to make it easier for the guests to sit down
*Respond to guests' requests at the time of seating, e.g. if they wish to hand in their coats, they may wish to be directed to washrooms
*Record seating time, table numbers and supply the Maitre'd, Managers, head waiters, waitresses, with necessary information (e.g. credit card transfers)
*Make arrangements for taxis whenever needed
*Big the guests a warm farewell
*To perform closing duties, e.g. cleaning and tidying the reception area, filing the records

Job Requirements:

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.Considerable skill in math and algebraic equations using percentages.
Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions. Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EXPERIENCE:
At least two years in related field required.
