Logo Design Contest



Logo Design Contest

We are L.JOY boutique, located in the Island of St. Barths in the Caribbean. We are trying to expand, so the logo has to be simple yet noticeable (for example- Chanel, very simple but everyone knows that that logo is Chanel). We don't have any guide lines. Be as creative as you’d like. Just keep simplicity in mind. The colors we like are gold, black, red and rhinestones. What we expect from the winner is the right to use the logo he-she has created, and the original Un-grouped/ locked Photoshop version, plus the CMYK.

Deadline: 3 weeks. Monday the 12th

Submission: E-mail me just their name and ill assign them a number.

Additional skills required include customer service, sales and design, preparing estimates, answering phones, and word processing.

We are currently seeking a motivated, intelligent and aware individual to join the team of our new gallery.  As the front desk attendant, you will be the first person that our public and clients interact with.   Additional job duties include general gallery administration (processing mailings, assisting in the management of image and press archives, compiling correspondence and PowerPoint presentations for clients and artists, event planning, ordering supplies, etc.) in addition to direct & dynamic interactions with our artists, clients, and friends.  This position will also provide the opportunity to contribute to the gallery by performing art historical research and being a part of our community activities – from attending gallery dinners to invitations to exclusive events.  The right candidate will be bright and ambitious, and will be able to adapt as the gallery & artists continue to expand and progress.

About you:You are interested in art, culture, and aesthetics.  You may be interested in design and fashion.  You have strong administrative skills, are naturally well-organized, and are excited by the challenges of a career in contemporary art.  You must be a master of Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Fluency in a second language is strongly preferred. You think about culture, music, art, art theory, history, and media constantly.  You understand the business of art & wish to be a part of it.  You have a bachelor's degree in Art History, Visual Culture, or other pertinent field.  You have working experience in any administrative function that requires fast-paced customer service skills – like working in retail, hospitality, or a high-level internship at another gallery or museum.  You understand that the core responsibilities of this job must be attended to, and want to execute them above and beyond and with sincerity, curiosity, and dedication. You are able to work Wednesday through Saturday 10-6 p.m.

Suzanne Geiss has worked in the contemporary art field for 16 years. Books published under her guidance include the definitive Keith Haring monograph published by Rizzoli Vanessa Beecroft: Performances 1993-2003. Exhibitions in 2012 include:  Rammellzzee, Kristin Baker, Ryan Johnson, Chris Johanson, and Antonio Lopez.
