STOCK COORDINATOR

Perry Ellis International is seeking a Part Time Stock Coordinator in (, L.I.,NY) to join its expanding Retail Division. The primary focus of the Stock Coordinator is to be a customer service and product knowledge expert who is committed to building and sustaining a long term relationships with our customers by providing an environment that enhances the buying experience. Our Stock Coordinators are responsible for the executions of all company defined best practices in the stock room and sales floor. This includes replenishment, maintenance of the Perry Ellis International brands represented in local Department stores.  Responsibilities also include organizing fixtures and apparel to satisfy visual and marketing standards as determined by the corporate office. 

Stock Coordinators must adhere to all company guidelines, procedures and applicable state and federal laws to ensure efficient daily operations. They must demonstrate high standards of performance and exhibit those standards. The ability to develop and maintain long term customer relationships is critical.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous Merchandise or Stock Coordinator experience, apparel or department stores experience a plus, especially in menswear.

  • Good understanding of retail math.  Must be able to read and analyze business reports and purchase orders.

  • Ability to multi-task and possess strong organization skills. 

  • Must be able to balance servicing of multiple brands within various retailers.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbally.

  • Ability to work independently and task manage appropriately.

  • Must have daily access to the internet, a computer and printer.

  • Must have own transportation to travel to stores.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires the normal demands of any job, such as sitting, standing, reaching with arms and hands, walking, talking and hearing

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong people skills

  • Must be able to multi task

  • Proficient in computer business related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.)

  • Must be very knowledgeable of warehouse system and RF devices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or an Associate’s Degree

Ability to use computer keyboard, standard telephone and other related business equipment.

Job Summary
 
      Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies. Follow property control audit standards and cash handling procedures (e.g., blind drops). Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, obtaining change required for expected business level, and keeping bank secure at all times. Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank. Transport bank to/from assigned workstation. Set up and organize cashier workstation with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials; and maintain cleanliness of workstation at all times. Complete opening duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, including bank, and ensuring everything is in working order.
 
     Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

SUMMARY:
This highly visible position is the initial point of contact for both the Museum and School/Administration sites. Act as an ICP ambassador to enhance overall audience satisfaction. This includes interacting with current and prospective students, museum visitors, artists, donors, trustees, staff members, the media, vendors, and all others. Welcome visitors, answer questions, and provide information about exhibitions, events, education, programs, and memberships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Greet Museum visitors -- welcome and acknowledge, sell tickets, answer questions, check membership status, sell memberships, announce and direct special guests.
  • Greet School visitors – welcome and acknowledge, check IDs, ensure all employees and visitors sign in and out, announce and direct special guests.
  • Greet Special Events visitors – these include exhibition openings, lectures, tours, private gatherings, etc.
  • Ensure safety of people and property by following appropriate security procedures; report unsafe or inappropriate situations, following-up as needed.
  • Answer main ICP phone lines. Provide information; respond to inquiries in pleasant and informed manner. When necessary take messages and deliver them to appropriate party.
  • Keep current on all ICP activities.
  • Check on security and cleanliness of public areas. Report anything out of place to supervisor or appropriate department.
  • Perform daily pre-opening check. Make sure lights are on, doors are open, and computers and audio presentations are ready for visitors.
  • Report equipment failures to relevant department; follow through regarding repairs.
  • Stock informational material throughout the day.
  • Open and close daily cash receipts.
  • Function as Coat Check attendant as needed.
  • Must be available for evenings and weekends.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Keep reception area tidy and properly stocked.
  • Use mailing machine.
  • Accept deliveries; direct to proper department.
  • Set up large tables and chairs for lectures, receptions, etc.
  • Assist at special events; cover additional hours as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
DRESS CODE:
  • Polo shirt with ICP logo; dark slacks or appropriate length skirt; pre-approved footwear
  • Must be clean and neat at all times, including well-groomed hair
  • No head coverings, unless it is for religious or medical purposes
  • No visible logos, other than ICP
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Training in providing superior customer service
Work Experience:
  • Previous visitor services, retail and/or security experience required
  • Experience working computerized cash register in fast-paced environment
Skills and Abilities:
  • Polite and professional presentation, including solid communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to read people's needs during their visit
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure and during emergencies
  • Solid computer skills -- Microsoft Outlook, VISTA, and retail POS system
  • Excellent follow through
  • Knowledge of photography preferred
  • Fluency in two or more languages preferred
  • Commitment to providing superior customer service
