Ronin Gallery is a Madison Ave gallery specializing in Japanese Prints and related works of art.  At this time we have a part time gallery assistant/internship position available.  This is a paid entry level position.  We are seeking a candidate who is highly organized, detail oriented and energetic. Flexibility, enthusiasm, good writing, photography and computer skills are a must.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Research
Writing press releases and artist biographies,
Photography and editing of artwork for our website,
Packaging and shipping,
Matting and handling of prints,
Receiving visitors,
Answering phones,
Updating inventory and mailing list databases
Installation of exhibitions,
General back office gallery work

Elementem Seeking Photographers

Are you a photographer?

 

 Elementem has some great opportunities for photographers to get their work out there and rewarded for it.  
We are currently building a network of cutting edge photographers, for businesses and interior designers who need quality pictures for their projects.  We are also seeking new submissions for the 2012 Spring Season.  If selected as a 2012 Elementem Photograph, you will receive a cash prize in addition to a percentage of sales from your image.

Street-Fair Sales for Elementem Photography (Midtown East)

Elementem Photography (www.elementem.com) is hiring an energetic, outgoing person to sell photography prints at outdoor locations around the city.


Elementem has been in business since 2010, and makes wood-mounted photography that retail at markets and street fairs in New York City and online.

The sales position is paid hourly with additional bonuses based on commissions and sales goals. A typical salesperson earns about 120-250 per day.

Work is outdoors, fast paced and highly interactive.

On a typical day you will meet in our storage location in Soho at 8am, pick up the photography displays, and the photography sets, ride in the van to market/fair location, set up the display and the photography, and interact with interested customers until 6pm. After the sales day, you will pack up the photography, and the displays, and pack them into the van, to be unloaded in Soho.

The ideal candidate is a current or recent college graduate, friendly, motivated, outgoing, hard-working, punctual, organized, and street-smart.

This job requires working in fast-paced environments, in a somewhat physical capacity, lifting the art/displays, please apply only if that is OK.

Prior sales experience in retail stores is a plus.

We have a great team, we pay well for good salespeople who have a good attitude, and the job is fun.
We are currently offering 2 full time and 2 weekend (Saturday/Sunday) positions.

Photography Opportunity to Create a Logo for a Film Production Company

We are looking for a talented photographer who would be interested in a unique opportunity to create a photo-collage style logo for a production company.

This logo would appear on the company's website (currently in production) and as an animation at the beginning of every film.  The production company produces about a film a year, including the 2010 Oscar Shortlisted documentary The Lottery.

Description:
Working with the founder of the company to develop, shoot, and edit a photography collage of a NYC scene scape, which would appear on the company's website (currently in production) and as an animation at the beginning of every film. This job may lead to additional opportunities.

Anticipated Requirements:
Photography must be digital, but color is important. We anticipate approximately 5 days of work (1 day scouting, 1 day shooting, 3 days editing)

Compensation:
A project fee, negotiable depending on experience and project proposal.

Premiere Realism Gallery in Soho seeks part-time Art Handler. Must be willing to work as a team and have a flexible schedule (weekends, openings and installations).

Candidate must have experience and interest in art; with a very good visual memory (artists welcomed).

Great starting position with possibility of moving into Full-time.

Must have experience hanging and installing works of art
Must have the physical ability to lift 50-100lbs.

Must have knowledge of packing artwork for shipping domestic and international

Job Description:TV Land is seeking a long-term freelance Photography Coordinator to join its Marketing and Brand Creative Group. This position will curate and archive photos, work collaboratively to produce smaller scale photo shoots, and be responsible for all photography needs for the TV Land Press Department. Candidates will have 1-2 years of experience, strong asset management skills, a passion for photography, and a good creative eye.

Responsibilities include:• Manage contractual relationship with the photo agency.
• Set up photo shoots for both episodic and gallery for all TV Land shows.
• Coordinate with online, marketing and other internal departments on their needs prior to press photos shoots.
• Edit photography from all shoots, including sitcom tapings.
• Maintain the network’s photo database and archiving system.
• Proactively suggest ways to streamline the photo process and budget.
• Actively find new photographers who can work in tandem with photo agency.
• Work with programming department on an on-going basis to acquire artwork for acquisitions. Convey the content of the deliverables in a proactive and timely manner.
• Set up executive and talent headshots for the network.
• Work with the press department to select and negotiate rates and terms for non-contracted photographers.
• Work with legal and production management to create contracts and agreements for all photo assignments.
