Job Summary:
This position is directly responsible for increasing sales at new, trendy 26,000 square foot (3 floors) specialty store in the Financial District. Merchandise in store is for women, men and children with one-of-a-kind 'conversation piece' home furnishings.
Style of store combines 'British ultra girly' collections with boho/beatnik and glamorous separates and eveningwear. Candidates applying should be comfortable with these styles and should be able to demonstrate examples in past positions where they have effectively driven sales with this kind of inventory.
Responsibilities also include operating a cashier, taking payments and processing refunds, understanding and being able to merchandise outfits to all different types of customers (age groups), experience with driving sales in 'start up' business, and cultivating prospect and loyal customer base .
Job Specifications:
Sales Associates must be able to demonstrate examples in past positions of experience with:
• 'Best practice' customer service.
• 'Above styles' and the ability to 'merchandise customers' to drive sales.
• A 'customer focused', cheerful, articulate demeanor.
• A 'hands-on' approach with having fun, and being playful (yet respectful) in the sales process.
• Strong process development & facilitation skills.
• Communicating a brand's differentiation to all prospects and customers.
• The importance of driving a loyal and patronizing clientele.
• Sizing and accessorizing different body shapes and styles.
• Team initiatives and being part of a growing organization.
• Demonstrated strong project management skills
Salary: Commensurate With Experience.
Ideal Candidates: May have worked in women's department at Anthropology, TopShop, Zara, Club Monaco. In men's may have worked at Barneys New York (Co-op area), Paul Stuart, Ted Baker, Bergdorf Goodman.
