Soula Shoes - PT Sales Associates

Soula Shoes, one of Brooklyn's premiere women's, men's and kid's shoe stores, is looking for a Part-Time Sales Associate to work in our Williamsburg and Boerum Hill locations.

Position averages approximately 20-25 hours per week with weekends and holidays a must!

Looking for someone with the following qualifications:

-excellent selling and customer service skills
-self starter and very active on selling floor
-familiar with pos systems and credit card services
-able to multi task, works quickly and efficiently.
-prior retail sales experience or restaurant wait experience; no fast food

Responsibilities include providing the highest level of customer service, sales, stock-work, store maintenance. Great opportunity for someone currently working freelance, recent college grad or fashion oriented university student. Benefits include generous employee discount, paid vacation after one year of service, and health coverage available after trial period.

You will be working with a top-tier team, but in a fun and casual environment in Soho! This position is perfect for someone who wants to get his/her foot through the door and pursue a long-term career in the F&B industry. However, please note that we work in a demanding environment and have a serious first-class approach to customer service. Be ready to learn and study the menu as well as serve our guests efficiently and with high standards. This is NOT a position for cooking in the kitchen. It is for front of the house only.

We are a young company with lots of room for growth.

Requirements:- A genuine passion and knowledge for food and pastries. If you don’t have some knowledge of food or interest, this may be challenging for you.

- Prior training as a barista (you should be able to make all espresso-based drinks).

- Previous experience working in a retail shop or restaurant and knowledge of POS systems.

- Dependable and hard-working. Lateness to work and multiple absences is considered grounds for termination.

- Sociable and friendly to customers. We believe personality is your biggest asset.

- Free to work weekends and during holidays. Our hours are from 8am to 7pm (Mon-Sat) and 9am to 7pm (Sun). Staff will not work all those days, but will take shifts of approx 8 hours, 5 days a week.

- Need to have flexibility to work both morning and evening shifts.

- Must be available immediately.

Summary:
To clear, clean and reset tables during restaurant operations and to assist serving guests, courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications.

Requirements:
1)      Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
2)      3 years fine dining experience as a Server.

5)      Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
6)      High school graduate, some college.
7)      Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and beers.

 Job Functions:
1)      Serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food to guests.
2)      Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
3)      Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware, garnishes for each drink and necessary cutlery and china for menu items.
4)      Enforce state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk drivers.
5)      Maintain complete knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems.
6)      Complete opening and closing side duties.
7)      Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of tables, service areas and outlet itself.
8)      Direct bussers and food runners to assist in serving guests efficiently and according to hotel standards.
