Affairs Afloat is one of New York's top party boat cruise lines, operating The Queen of Hearts and The Star of Palm Beach out of Pier 40 along the West Side Highway at Houston Street. We offer a number of different themed cruises including the original Brazilian Cruise, CopaCabana and Tropicana Cruises, as well as the Kiddie Cruise and private charters.

We are looking for an energetic individual who is proactive in engaging prospective customers to join us for our daily events.

We offer the flexibility of a full-time or part-time schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Proactively approach prospective customers in effort to promote our products and services and encourage them to join us for our events.
Distribute event tickets to potential customers.
Record customer information to create mailing lists for future events.

QUALIFICATIONS:Strong Customer Service and Communication skills.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate information about our services including dates, departure times, description of the cruise, etc....
Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time.
Friendly and enthusiastic personality.
Prior sales experience preferred, but not required.

We offer competitive base pay ($10-$15/hr depending on enthusiasm and experience) plus commissions.

We need an enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our gift shop team.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 year of prior retail experience
• Available to work days, evenings, holidays and weekends. 
• Outgoing personality to engage the customers
• Able to bend and lift up to 30 lbs for housekeeping and stocking duties
• Capable of standing for up to 8 hours during work shift
• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting and attention to detail

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Develop familiarity and knowledge of products and services in the shop.
• Adhere to loss prevention objectives and maintain acceptable shrink levels during your shift.
• Understand contractual obligation for store to be open during scheduled hours of operations.
• Implement and teach Customer F.I.R.S.T. guidelines.
• Work independently with responsibility of managing large sums of money and protecting company assets.
• Monitor product stock levels and use online ordering for replenishment of needed items.
• Utilize the POS computer system.
