Summary of Responsibilities:

This is a part time position. The Education Greeter provides orientation and assistance to school groups at the School Group Entrance. Additionally, provides customer service, administrative support, and takes phone registrations. Key duties include:

 

• Greet and check in school groups.
• Provide orientation and assistance to school groups at the School Group Entrance.
• Provide customer service.
• Assist in phone and computerized registrations.
• Become conversant in activities and interests related to Visitors’ needs.

Requirements:

 

• Good customer service skills.
• Willingness and ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and to be outdoors.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Able to lift program materials and signs up to 15 lbs.
• Fluency in English required; fluency in other languages a plus.
• Driver’s license required.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Knowledge of The New York Botanical Garden preferred.
• Must be available Tuesday - Friday from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Summary of Responsibilities:

This is a part-time position.

 

• Accurately ring up sales in the register.
• Assist customers and provide information about shop merchandise and general Garden programs. 
• Stock displays in a neat and organized fashion, and monitor items needed from the warehouse.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain the Shop’s appearance. 

 Requirements:

 

• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Friendly and pleasant demeanor.
• Detail oriented.
• Willingness to work hard and be part of the team.
• Flexibility regarding duties, hours, and holidays.
